It's hard to believe that ten years have passed since the Dear Canada series first came out. While editing the Dear Canada books has sometimes been a challenge, what hooks me to the stories, and I'm sure what appeals to the readers, is the diarists. Each of them has such a distinct personality that she really comes alive in my mind. Working on these books has seemed like making thirty new best friends!
But one of the most satisfying things about working on Dear Canada is the authors. I cannot think of people I would rather collaborate with, writers who have extraordinary crativity and inventiveness. I'm delighted that they allow me to inhabit the world of their character for a while — I'm grateful to each and every writer of this series
