Marketing Specialist, School Markets
An opening exists in the School Markets Division for the position of Marketing Specialist reporting to Senior Marketing Manager, School Markets
Work Location: This position is hybrid with the flexibility of working from home or in our beautiful downtown Toronto office located at 2 Bloor Street West, Toronto Ontario.
Role Summary
This position is an 18-month contract opportunity. The Marketing Specialist, reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, School Markets will be responsible for supporting the promotion of Book Clubs and Book Fairs products and programs to meet the financial goals of the businesses. This includes creating print and digital collateral to support divisional and cross-channel initiatives, with a strong focus on ecommerce and social media.
Primary Responsibilities
· Plan and execute all digital marketing assets for all School Market ecommerce, marketing websites, and blogs.
· Plan and execute effective social media promotion, develop posting schedules and content for all School Market social media channels, and communicate trends.
· Plan and execute all School Market print and online promotional catalogues and flyers, including Book Clubs news and memos, and Book Fairs booklist flyers.
· Manage the creation process of all marketing collateral with cross-divisional teams, ensuring all departments are kept abreast of marketing initiatives and updates.
· Evaluate results on a monthly basis and provide recommendations.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or Advertising, or equivalent experience.
· Minimum of three (3) years of experience in marketing and/or advertising.
· Professional fluency and marketing experience in French is an asset.
· Proven track record of being a self-starter, capable of driving projects from inception to completion.
· Excellent time management skills, and strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
· Experience with leading small teams and working collaboratively to meet departmental and corporate goals.
· Proficiency with the following platforms: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite/Canva, or other digital content creation platforms.
· General understanding of Enterprise/ecommerce level network infrastructure.
· Experience with content management systems/databases such as Adobe Analytics, Demandware/Salesforce Business Manager, WordPress, Figma, Trello, or similar.

Distribution Manager
An opening exists in the Book Fairs Division for the position of Distribution Manager reporting to Director of Branch Operations.
Work Location: This position works out of our Moncton Branch located at 222 Edinburgh Drive, Unit 140, Moncton, New Brunswick.
Role Summary
The Distribution Manager is responsible for managing all facets of the branch operational business, ensuring efficient and cost-effective distribution, and labour management. In partnership with all divisional teams, provide directive and branch insight to ensure efficient Customer fulfillment, and optimal performance.
Primary Responsibilities
· Guide and support branch employees while fostering a positive work environment.
· Responsible for overseeing the progress of the team, ensuring that employees feel valued and motivated in their roles.
· Recruit, train and provide guidance to all branch staff ensuring awareness of Company policies and procedures, with a key focus on health and safety.
· Encourage and maintain cooperative relationships with staff and all divisional leaders/teams, as it pertains to branch insight and business volumes.
· In collaboration with divisional leadership, establish yearly operating budgets, quarterly business reforecasts, and financial branch performance analysis.
· Monitor business volumes to ensure all aspects of fulfillment are handled on time, correctly and cost-effectively.
· Engage in ongoing self-reflection and continue to advance knowledge and skills related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
· Recognizes diversity and inclusion as an important aspect of the work environment by supporting new ideas and different perspectives, promoting cross-cultural awareness, and creating a safe environment for difficult conversations.
· Determine cost effective logistics agreements, planning and shipping methods for branch territories.
· Participate in head office/Sales meetings to review business volumes and provide operational insight, as needed.
· Provide support, input and direction into the operational growth and performance of Scholastic Book Fairs by participating in management calls, meetings and attending annual divisional conferences.
· Participate in other duties and special projects as required to support the business.
Qualifications
· Post-secondary education.
· 5-7 years of progressive Distribution experience
· Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
· Knowledge of AS400 and Salesforce (or similar CRM system), an asset
· Knowledge of Oracle Transportation or similar, an asset
· Flexibility to travel when necessary.
