Behind the scenes

The family in this story is Robert Munsch's family — the same family that is in Makeup Mess, Finding Christmas and, of course, Andrew's Loose Tooth. Munsch was inspired to write this story because his son Andrew liked to chew on his pyjamas when he was a little boy! ART ALERT: The pattern on Andrew’s pyjamas is Munsch-themed! It includes pies (as in More Pies!); Tina’s socks from Smelly Socks; chili peppers as a reference to Class Clown; and a moose from what else: Moose! Even the drapes in Andrew’s room match his perfect pyjamas! You might notice references to LOTS of other Munsch books. Did you spot the following actual books: Hugs, The Sandcastle Contest, More Pies!, Moose! and Swamp Water? The Paper Bag Princess is on the bulletin board. Can you find any others? Did you recognize the salesman in the store? He was the waiter in Swamp Water!
